At TOMS Foundation, we believe that the power of music can change lives. Our vision is ambitious yet simple: to create a world where music education is free, accessible, and of the highest quality. We aim to reach every student, from the metro cities to the rural heartlands of India, with a curriculum that honors the legacy of our nation’s finest art forms – Carnatic and Hindustani music.

We’re rolling out our dream in three exciting phases, with each phase making music education more accessible, immersive, and empowering:

Phase 1: Free, Self-Paced Online Learning

Our journey begins by bringing the music straight to you. We are launching comprehensive, self-paced online courses in both Carnatic and Hindustani music, accessible to learners of all ages and skill levels. These free courses allow students to learn at their own pace and embrace music as part of their everyday life. Phase 1 also includes Phase 1.2, where we translate this curriculum into every Indian language, ensuring that language is never a barrier to accessing music education.

Phase 2: Reach and Empower

Phase 2.1: Music Education in Rural Schools :
Our mission moves into India’s rural heartlands, focusing on tier 3, 4, and 5 towns. We identify and train passionate local musicians and educators, equipping them to bring Carnatic and Hindustani music directly into village schools. By empowering these educators with our curriculum, we’re not only making music accessible to children who might otherwise never experience it but also creating meaningful employment opportunities for teachers within their own communities.

Phase 2.2: Music for Healing and Connection :
In Phase 2.2, we deepen our commitment to inclusivity by extending our programs to communities that can benefit deeply from the joy of music. Our outreach expands to old-age homes, neurodivergent centers, rehabilitation clinics, at-risk youth centers, and Agniveer programs, along with other communities with limited access to creative resources. This includes women’s shelters, orphanages and child care centers, community health centers, youth correctional facilities, support homes for individuals with disabilities, and centers for underprivileged and marginalized communities. Through these initiatives, we aim to offer healing, connection, and engagement, using music as a tool to uplift and inspire across every corner of society.

Phase 3: Establishing TOMS Foundation Centers

Finally, our mission culminates in the establishment of TOMS Foundation Centers every 100km across India. These centers will be spaces where music education, performance, and collaboration thrive, offering free music classes, a performance area to showcase local talent, and fully equipped studios to capture and share the incredible musical journey of each community. By inspiring a love for music, we aim to reduce at-risk behaviors among youth, empower communities, and amplify voices from beyond metro cities—creating a future where the rich legacy of Indian music is accessible to all.
